Trail Overview
Bidwell Road is an out-and-back to the Ghost Town of Bidwell. Everything has been removed except the old steps to the courthouse. This route is a long, steep downhill road with several water crossings. Some entries to the water crossing can be steep. Otherwise, the trail is fairly tame and used by the park service to monitor a nearby backpacking shelter area.

Difficulty
Marked as a 2 due to the steep embankments into and out of the water crossings. Avoid the area if it's been raining and/or flooded.
History
Bidwell was a small 19th-Century Industrial/Railroad settlement that faded away after its industry closed and the rail alignment changed. Over time, the structures were abandoned and removed. The site was absorbed into the State Park and Forest Land.
