Trail Overview
The Railroad Grade trail is a point-to-point trail leading to Mountain Spring Road. It is a typical state forest graded gravel road. It has big timber and pine trees, with several pull-offs and some parking spots. There was a detour on this trail that does place you back onto the correct path rather quickly. There are some Bridges and shelf roads, which can be treacherous in snow. Noted several dams and Ice formations off the trail, deeper into the woods. The trail Parallels Bowmans Creek. This trail is state-managed by PA DCNR Ricketts Glen State Park. There is no Winter Maintenance, so more difficult to traverse in the winter months.
