Trail Overview
This is a generally well-maintained gravel road with some ruts and washboard areas. The trail starts at Dougan Falls and follows the Washougal River to the northeast, passing countless small waterfalls and eventually coming to Deer Creek. The parking area near Dougan Falls requires a Washington Discover Pass. The first several miles of the trail are in and out of private property with clearly marked "No Parking" signs. You must stay on the trail here. After a few miles, you'll come to an intersection with a larger cleared area, probably used for target practice. The second right will keep you on W2000. You'll continue to meander your way through harvested forests and back into unharvested areas. At the next major intersection, a 90-degree left turn puts you onto W2070. After about a mile, a right-hand turn puts you onto W2071. This forest road is a steep climb, but after you crest the ridgeline, the views are spectacular.

Difficulty
The washboard and erosion after a heavy rain or snow may be difficult. Stock 4WD should be fine in every season except for winter.
