Trail Overview

Wide, graded, and well-maintained gravel road accessing the Cle Elum Valley and its numerous alpine lakes and trailheads North of Cle Elum Lake. Watch your speed as there are many blind corners and a good deal of wildlife in the area. This road crosses private property ( a small collection of mountain cabins) at one point. There are numerous points where spring runoff crosses the road deep enough to prevent passenger cars from proceeding.

This road is a 1 in mid summer and fall, but a 3 when there is fast moving water at the water crossings.

Deep Snow
Most clear up to 3200 feet. Then started hitting patches of snow that had been driven through. Started getting thicker and less dry patches between. Turned around about 2 miles before scatter creek on the bike. Otherwise beautiful ride right now. The road was mostly empty, only ran into 2 other vehicles.

Trail is clear up til around 3,000 feet where you’ll encounter patches of the “Cascade concrete” snow, by 3,200 feet the trail in impassable.
