Trail Overview
This is an older alternate route going up to West Canyon Trailhead. Much like the dirt road that now goes to the trailhead, which is in the Wasatch National Forest lands, it does go thru some private properties, which at different times of year are grazing cattle. There are only a couple of cattle gates that can be up during grazing season, but the rest of the time they are open. If they are closed, please be courteous and close behind you. Being this is an older dirt road that doesn't get as much traffic, there are areas of the trail that are rocky and not recommended for cars to drive. Also, depending on the time of the year, there might be snow on the trail into which the trail will go from a 1-3 to a solid 5. The rest of the route is an easy yet very bumpy road that leads to some great views of the Tooele Valley below. This trail due to its bumpiness is a slower go to the Trail Head, but very worthwhile and you can always return on the more traveled West Canyon road.
