Trail Overview
The primary access to Meadow Creek Reservoir starts on County Road 84. This route takes a more off-road and scenic drive to start, meeting up with CR 84 about 2/3 of the way up to Meadow Creek Reservoir. The reservoir is a popular summer beach hangout with beautiful views, fishing, hiking, camping, paddle boarding, and lots of fun away from town. This provides access to the High Lonesome Trailhead as well as the Junco Lake Trailhead, which provides access to several hiking trails to pass over the continental divide.

Difficulty
The majority of the road is well maintained dirt, however portions of the road higher up have more erosion and rock up to 12 inches. A 2WD vehicle will make the trip easily, albeit somewhat uncomfortably due to the bumpy ride up higher, and 4WD vehicles with aired down tires will make easy work of the road. Please note that the beginning of this road starts on Hurd Creek Road, which is an extremely eroded section of road that low clearance vehicles will find difficult, and which can be bypassed by simply taking CR 84 the entire way as an alternative.
