Trail Overview

Wind your way up this canyon that is primarily sand and small rocks. There are a few extra credit options that do have bypasses, except for one or two obstacles at the end. Anything other than a stock SUV can navigate this canyon. The elevation gain is noticeable in the flora once you exit the canyon at the end.

Difficulty

Most of the trail is easy except towards the end where there are one or two obstacles that can not be avoided. With good driving skills and a slightly upgraded SUV should be able to make it past this point.

Good old Berdoo! Always a fun trail! No impact from recent rain.

Convinced that most people who write reviews have a super low risk tolerance, or gross inexperience. Did this trail in a bone stock Mazda CX-50 AWD rental car. Yes, had to rock crawl. Yes, I aired down. Yes, it was a blast. Did I almost scratch the crap out of it? Sure. Did I? No. One tiny little mark on a wheel. Easy trail. Some slight crawling if you come from dillon rd on the way up. I'd recommend going that direction so you can spot your line. Not too bad at all. I did it alone with no spotter. Because of the reviews on here, I almost didn't. I'm glad I did. Just send it.

We started on the north side from geology road. From this side it's all downhill into the canyon. took us about 1 hour to finish the bardoo canyon and 30 mins to get to the start of bardoo from geology road. Trail is pretty easy if you have a 4x4 vehicle and some clearance. a few scuffs from my stock side steps.

Lots of different routs you can take at the beginning. Made a reong turn that went to a dead end cuz I didn't look at my map. Doable with 2wd just gotta know how to pick your lines. Definitely glad I had some rock protection on my engine and transmission they got some use and woulda been stranded with out it cuz one large rock near the middle had a high pint in the middle that I didn't catch. Overall great trail but can take some time to work through it.

We came from the south into JT park. The climb was all loose rock and dirt, definitely some wetness from the rain. Once you hit the top, the backside is smooth and was fast and easy with the rain softening the usual ruts. Fun and pretty easy just slow going on the rocky climb up

We did the trail from the top coming out of Joshua tree which is definitely the easier route. Did not get stuck or damage anything, in a stock 4x4 ford ranger. Not sure if it would’ve been doable coming up, maybe I’ll give it a shot another time and report back. THIS TRAIL IS VERY ROUGH FOR A 3/10 have fun <3

This was a great beginner trail with my stock Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe. The only non-stock part I have are the Nexen Roadian ATX LT255/75R17 Tires. It offered a few tricky spots where you had to navigate the rocky path and I did scrape the undercarriage slightly a few times, but nothing damaging. I entered at the bottom of the trail and aired down the tires just after the shooting range, to 25 psi., this was mainly for a smoother ride, since it was a bit jarring at my standard pressure. We encountered 4 other vehicles on the path, all going the opposite direction, I had to back up once to get to a spot to pull off. I made one wrong turn as my GPS position seemed to be slightly off, but it was quick to get back on trail. I also had to turn back from a route that looked a bit too challenging for me and went with the easier path. I did most of the trail on electric power, and the Jeep didn't have a single issue. This will be a great trail to return to later for more challenging route options.

mostly pretty tame trail. one section would make me reconsider going out without high clearance. I never went into 4WD. started trail from geology tour road. It was my first time going through, by the time I got to the other end, I was pretty saddened to see so much trash left behind from many, many shooting galleries. way to go guys, really disappointed in the people bringing so much trash out and leaving it behind for the rest of us to deal with. this is the stuff that makes a wonderful day go to the wayside. still worth the run, if you haven't been.

Came with my buddy to do trail. It was easy. No need of a spotter if you’ve been doing it for awhile. Only had to use my 4L a couple times. Most of it did it in 2WD. Nothing crazy technical.

This is a newbie review, this was my second time off roading. I have a new Tacoma TRD Off Road, and there is a section we called “Can you Make It” after the phrase spray painted on a rock before you roll up to it. For the uninitiated, it’s a very challenging rock climb for newbies. This was my first rock climb scenario, the truck did great but you need a spotter for this trail. There are many random points along the trail that will need a spotter if you’re running stock truck. Overall for my second time out off-roading, I had a blast but be prepared for some advanced spots between very easy spots. Being new to off roading, this trail lulled me into thinking it was very easy, then the very challenging parts happened. Do not do this trial alone, or if you’re new, as I am. I made it through with not many issues, but I don’t know if others would zero issues, if not many issues.

New to off roading. Truck is completely stock. Did scrape a few times. High clearance is desired for an easy time. Few extra credit spots. 4low with rear locker only way I was able to complete those. Other than that might be able to complete the trail with 2wd if experienced and semi built rig. About 3.5 hrs from Begining of Berdoo canyon and ending of Geology rd. will do again once truck is lifted and with 33s. I expect it would be a breeze at that point.

Fun, easy trail. A couple tricky spots near the summit. Had to switch to 4WL once. Saw a few other Jeeps. All in all a fun day.

Fun trail through the Canyon for the most part very easy but there are a few parts that some high clearance and 4x4 is necessary.
