Trail Overview
This section of the Arizona Peace Trail has a lot of variety. Starting at a water crossing in a sandy wash near the abandoned stuck bus. The bus itself is located in the middle of a very silty area, which makes one wonder how it got stuck? On the southern route, you go through more silt beds and rocky bermed corners into narrow tree sections with deep ruts. This area could be impassable when wet. Once free of the silty section. Continuing south, the trail heads uphill to a ridgeline with steep loose climbs and off-camber transitions. From there you pop down one last steep hill; Don't forget to pause to take in the views of Lake Alamo in the distance. The final leg of this road is deep washboards and very wide with sandy wash crossings. There is some dispersed camping along the trail. 2 bars of LTE cell service in and out.
