Trail Overview
The Wire Mesa trailhead is actually a mountain bike destination, but the driveable trail continues on past the parking lot. Up there it's BLM land, so there are many primitive camp spots, most with fire rings, scattered all over the area. The desert landscape is pretty incredible up on this plateau. Note that there isn't an epic overlook at the end of this trail. Instead, it ends abruptly, and you're forced to turn around. The trail is not difficult at all. Any vehicle could do it up until about halfway through where a run-off ditch cuts across the trail. A low-clearance vehicle should not attempt to cross, but all others should be fine.
Difficulty
For the most part, this is a simple dirt trail with a few rocky patches that any vehicle could drive over.
