Trail Overview

Ridge road can be taken from either end, if entering from the RT120 side you will encounter a steep climb up about 1250 feet as the gravel road takes you to the top of the ridge. While this road offers no real challenges as any vehicle can make this trip it does offer some of the most amazing views in the PA Wilds. There are 6 or so vistas that offer great views. These are absolutely awesome in the fall when the leaves are turning but are nice any time of year. If you're fortunate you might even get to see some Elk on this drive. There are several ways up and down if you look at the map a little closer but this route will take you past all the vistas. There are two day-use pavilions along this road that offer a nice spot for a picnic lunch.

we took this route south to north. the first climb is long and will get plenty of heat in the engine and transmission. the route provides good flow with lots of sweeping turns and switchbacks along the ridgeline. all but the last few miles is groomed gravel. the last few miles are dirt with scattered ruts and potholes. there are vistas on both sides along the route with plenty of other fsr's intersecting the route.
