Trail Overview

This is a five-part trail adventure that takes you around (but not into) Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a simple county road that meanders through the countryside. Be on the lookout for horses, dogs, little old ladies on ATVs, and just some good scenery.

A nice route that skirts creeks and farms and has some hills. Following several days of rain, these roads were just barely wet and easily drivable in 2wd with clearance. No real standing water. A couple very shallow stream crossings. Recommend this as the last leg of a counterclockwise circuit around Fort Leonard Wood following the currently existing routes published in OnX if you have half a day to burn.

Access Description

Fuel up in Waynesville, Missouri, and grab some fuel for the road from Masters Donuts before heading out. Take MO-H under I-44 and turn right onto the service road. Follow that to Buckhorn and turn left onto Highway 17. Take Highway 17 to Highway HH and follow it to the start of the route.
