Trail Overview
West Higgins Trail is a 50-inch trail designed to be ridden by 50-inch ATVs, dirt bikes, and quads. The general makeup of this trail is loose sand. There is deeper sand in fresh timber-cut areas where the sun has had a chance to bake the ground. This is a fairly flat section of trail with only a few minor elevation changes. There are a considerable number of whoops throughout this trail. The constant whoops will create the largest obstacles on this trail outside of fresh tree falls and other natural obstacles. This trail is a joy.

Difficulty
This is not a smooth ride. In general there are no other obstacles other than whoops. If you happen to ride this on a day shortly after it has been groomed, you may even find that it was easier than the current rating.
History
This section of West Higgins is also part of the Original Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail.
