Trail Overview
Forest Service Roads 9532 and 7969 are easy and gorgeous off-road trails that make a fun loop to run. These trails are located near the Minnie Pond Campground area. This is a very easy route with nothing technical. Most of the trail is a combination of sand and dirt and weaves through a breathtaking tall red pine forest. If you've never seen these trees and how they're planted in perfectly straight rows and grow so tall and skinny, this is a must-see trail. The trail makes a turn as it approaches a classically picturesque Martin Creek. At this turn lies a decently large dispersed campsite. The trail continues a short bit before making a loop overlooking the creek. At this loop are a few dispersed campsites. This is a great spot to stop, take a break, and enjoy nature. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause mud/water holes that can get rutted out quickly. This trail is typically only wide enough for one vehicle, but there are plenty of places to pass. Enjoy this track, because it's a one-of-a-kind.
