Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 5185 is a unique trail that offers wonderful views of the tall red pine and hardwood trees. The trail encounters a few mud and water holes that can get deep and rutted out, especially during or after inclement weather. Regardless of the conditions, this is a great trail to tackle. It's even better to run this trail after traversing Flexy Ditch (NFS 5187). NFS 5185 allows you to get out in nature and enjoy the Manistee National Forest. Whether you're using this trail for off-road use, to access hunting, or to just be in the great outdoors, you really can't go wrong with NFS 5185.

Difficulty
There are a variety of mud holes that can get rutted out and deep, especially during or after inclement weather. Exposed tree roots on a few graded sections can cause this trail to become more challenging during wet conditions; thus, it has a Technical Rating and Difficulty of 3.
