St. Augustine Beach is one of the most beautiful off-road areas in Florida--9 miles driving on the beach next to the beautiful Atlantic Coast from A Street in St. Augustine Beach down to Fort Matanzas NM Beach Access. There are several exits in between. It's the perfect area for swimming, walking on the beach, watching dolphins, or just enjoying the ride. A $10 entrance fee is required from March 1 through September 30. 4x4 is required and high clearance is recommended. The sand can be very fine and deep. Inexperienced drivers get easily stuck. Only street-legal vehicles are permitted.

Stretches with soft sand 4x4 only with some deep ruts. 2 wheel drive allowed, marked at some entrances, with firm sand. Few people this afternoon. Beach traffic moving well with no one stuck on the sand. Typical beach drive.
