Trail Overview
Dolphin Trail starts on the east end as a continuation of Pine Creek Trail when it starts to directly head west after hitting a fence for private property. It has a short climb up from the bottom of the gulch to a dirt road. The climb up is rocky, loose, and full of boulders, with a couple of tight turns. It's in the shade for the most part in between pines and oaks. The trail continues on the other side of the dirt road, about 0.2 miles south from where it popped out. This west segment of trail is more mellow and flat through a forest before dropping all the way down to another small dirt road, 9404X. It drop 800 feet in about a mile. The descent is steep at times with loose rocks and wash outs and small curves, but is wide like a two-track. The bottom of the descent has less rocks.
