We’re Back. The onX Offroad Build Challenge: 2.0

Join seven teams as they take their rigs from stock to stacked + vote for your favorite to win it all.

We’re stoked to bring you the second official onX Offroad Build Challenge. This year, the challenge premise is the same; just in a new flavor. Each ambassador team is tasked to build a vehicle that can take on technical Rock Crawling and be self-sufficient for multi-day Overlanding. Over seven months, the teams will modify their chosen stock rigs into “RockLanders” using parts from our Elite Brand Partners. They’ll put their final rigs to the ultimate test on The Route to SEMA—a week-long wheelin’ challenge concluding in Las Vegas, NV, for the 2024 SEMA convention.

  • Team One: Dirt Lifestyle
  • Team Two: Mischief Maker
  • Team Three: Rudy’s Adventure and Design
  • Team Four: BleepinJeep 
  • Team Five: Robby Layton
  • Team Six: Fab Rats
  • Team Seven: Trail Builds It

Each team is given $20k to modify their rig to take on the week-long Build Challenge route in October 2024.

Nate of Dirtlifestyle

Rudy creates content he dubs “adventurous entertainment” for his channel Rudy’s Adventure and Design (RAD) where he loves to design things for reaching the edge of their limits—while hopefully garnering some self improvement and helping others along the way.

Matt + Josh of BleepinJeep

Matt from East Tennessee and Josh are the faces behind the BleepinJeep channel, which is your source for the best HD videos for off-roading of all kinds. Their specialty is high-definition, informative, and easy-to-follow how-to videos for Jeeps, rock-crawling, 4×4, wheeling, and just plain fun. Their website is also a great resource for off-road parks, discount coupon codes, and more. 

Robby Layton Nation

Robby Layton stands at the forefront of the autobody niche on YouTube, His team does some crazy rescues, full restorations, repairs, body, and paint. Over nine years, he built a reputation as a content creator and one of the industry’s finest mechanics. At Layton Auto Body, equipped with top-tier Challenger Lifts, Robby and his team tackle everything from intricate restorations to comprehensive repairs, making his channel a go-to resource for vehicle enthusiasts seeking knowledge and inspiration.

Fab Rats

Paul and Michelle Cox are the driving force behind Fab Rats, an entertaining welding automotive fabrication company that showcases the art of turning junk into treasure with expert fabrication skills. The duo is all about crafting incredible builds, enjoying all-American burnouts, and cherishing moments with friends in the garage.

Trail Builds It

Meet Colt and Rory, the dynamic duo behind Trail Builds It. Colt, from Colt Builds It, brings a lifetime of fabricating wild vehicle builds, blending how-to guides, off-road and on-road adventures, fabrication insights, and tech tips with his unique, creative approach. Rory, the force behind Trail Mater, turned a knack for vehicle recovery into a thriving passion. From late-night rescue calls to professional recoveries in Moab, Rory’s expertise grew from personal challenges and a series of “happy accidents.”
