Unit 021 regulates hunting opportunities for wildlife in Nevada and covers 437 square miles. Public lands comprise 269 square miles (62%) of the total land covered by this hunt unit. The greater region is best serviced by Reno, Sparks, and Stead. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 3,900 feet to a high of 8,600 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 11,314 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife.
