Zone 2 regulates hunting opportunities for deer in Kentucky and covers 3,644 square miles. The greater region is best serviced by Lexington, Duckers, and Graefenburg. This area does not have land available to the public. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 500 feet to a high of 1,400 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 103 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife. This area contains 5 campgrounds, and 18 public fishing access sites. There are 44 trailheads that provide public gateways to these forested areas: Daniel Boone National Forest. Additionally, 24 sites are open to the public for access to managed private lands.
