Zone D7 regulates hunting opportunities for deer in California and covers 3,737 square miles. Public lands comprise 2,236 square miles (60%) of the total land covered by this hunt zone. The greater region is best serviced by Fresno, and Clovis. The elevation of the region ranges from a low of 200 feet to a high of 13,800 feet above sea level. Wildfires have burned nearly 5,315 acres here in the last two years, providing opportunities for new vegetation and attracting a variety of wildlife.
