onX for Business- Frequently Asked Questions
onX Hunt Elite, and Premium and Premium+ memberships are designed for individual users. They provide access to onX’s app features for personal use, with one account tied to one person, individual billing, and consumer terms of use.
An onX for Business License is designed specifically for organizations and teams. In addition to including all the benefits and features available in the onX app, a business license adds tools and protections that support professional and operational use, including:
Transferable licenses that can be reassigned as staff or contractors change, Centralized account management to better manage access across your team, Single, consolidated billing with one receipt instead of individual purchases, Government and business terms of use to ensure long-term, reliable access for commercial or official use and Improved data sharing and access management so information can be distributed efficiently to your team
The benefits of onX for Business are ease of billing; we can help provide single receipt billing for all accounts. You will have better control over account access and data control. It also provides additional benefits like recent imagery, lidar imagery, and access to our terrain X program.
onX for Business allows you to purchase licensing to onX Backcountry, onX Offroad and onX Hunt. Need help deciding which tool is best for your organization? View them all.
You do have the ability to purchase licensing to different apps for different team members. However, each licenses is only for one app at a time. If you use more than one app for a single person, it does require separate licenses for each app that they use.
As the admin, you decide which onX apps each employee has access to when you purchase. You can assign different apps to different employees, including Hunt, Backcountry, and Offroad. Keep in mind that if collaboration is important, it is best for employees to be using the same app. If you have questions or need help deciding, please contact business.support@onxmaps.com.
Business licenses cost more because they’re designed for professional use. They include additional support, dedicated account management, and more advanced billing options. They also come with updated terms of use that allow professional and business applications. On top of that, the cost for us to provide and maintain data at a business-grade level (reliability, compliance, scale, and support) is significantly higher. This is consistent across the market. Business products typically cost more because they carry higher service levels, risk, and operational requirements than personal-use offerings.
All we need is your company name, number of employees you want to add as users, and the emails that are going to be used for the users. If you require tax exemption, we will need the tax exemption certificate.
You can purchase for as many users as you would like. We can support any number of users. Our licensing is on a per seat cost and that seat is for a single user to use on their devices.
Yes! We do have volume discounts starting at 25 memberships and provide tiered pricing from there. To learn more about this opportunity please reach out to us at onxforbusiness@onxmaps.com.
After you purchase please allow for 4 business hours for your account to be activated. Once accounts have been activated we will send you a welcome email and a password setting email to any new account members. If you already have an account you will be able to log in using your existing email and password and not experience any loss in data.
No, Business Licenses have special Terms of Service; therefore, each member will have their own account and password. Team members can setup shared folders to share markups (e.g. waypoints) with each other.
Our different apps do share common information like parcel, trail and road data. However, an onX Hunt account cannot share waypoints or other types of content with an onX Backcountry account. You can export data from one into the other but we have found that it is best to keep everyone on a specific team on the same app.
All account management activities are currently handled through our customer experience team. The admin of a Business License can:
-Add/remove individuals to the team membership
-Transfer a membership from one employee to another
-Make changes to billing or account information

Individual mark ups can be shared through a link and a user can share multiple points at once by adding those markups to a folder and sharing the folder. This will let other team members view information that they need on their accounts.
