onX Offroad Launches A Suite Of New And Improved Features For All Off-Roaders

onX Offroad, the leading navigation app for off-road enthusiasts, has added new features that will refine and elevate the user experience. Before heading out on the trail, My Garage lets users filter adventures by vehicles and past experiences. Offline Routing allows for on-the-fly route planning, and Landscape Mode shows the map horizontally–whether mounted in-vehicle or on handlebars. New condition related layers now consist of Wildfire Smoke,  Air Quality Index, Historic Wildfires, and Precipitation Radar to keep users informed before they hit the trails. All of these new features are designed to make off-roading a seamless experience, whether in a 4×4, UTV, or dirt bike.

After many years of steady refinement of the map system, Offline Routing is now available on iOS, with the Android version coming soon. The new offline routing feature enables users to build and share routes without cell or internet service. Whether riders reach an impassable point after a storm, or just need to make a quick route change on the fly, they can find the best path forward with snap-to functionality. Offline Routes are also easily shareable with the new Nearby Share feature, ensuring the entire group has the updated route at hand.

Landscape Mode improves map visibility for drivers and riders of all types. Whether their phone is mounted to the handlebar of their dirt bike or mounted to their dash, users can easily achieve a larger field of view of the map by simply tilting their device to the side. As the map adapts to the landscape visual perspective, they can foresee any offshoots or obstacles ahead, and choose the right trail to reach their destination. Landscape Mode is now available for both iOS and Android users.

More than just a digital adventure planning tool, the My Garage feature allows users to store information, settings, and photos about each of their vehicles and the preferred trail types that they are set up for, like a digital scrapbook of sorts. For customers with multiple vehicles stored in the My Garage feature, they will be able to filter the trails on maps based on what each vehicle is designed and intended for.

While planning out your next route, or actively on the trail, the addition of condition related map layers for Wildfire Smoke, Air Quality Index, Historic Wildfires, and Precipitation Radar will aid in conquering your next off-road adventure. These condition related layers help to inform users to find routes that escape smokey conditions of active wildfires, understanding if trail conditions will be too muddy because of active rain, onX Offroad has you covered.
