onX Fish Expands to Montana for Lake Anglers
onX Fish, a digital mapping and discovery tool for anglers, today announced its expansion into the state of Montana. The launch marks a return for onX back to the state where it all began, this time for still-water anglers with onX Fish. onX, the pioneer in outdoor digital navigation, was founded in Missoula, Montana in 2009 and the company is still headquartered there today.
“We are excited to expand onX Fish into Montana” said Senior Vice President of onX Hunt and onX Fish Cliff Cancelosi. “Montana is home for us, our employees and loyal customers expect us to continue to support them in their outdoor adventures. Angling is the perfect complement to our existing products, and with onX Fish, our customers can expect the same high-quality experience as they push farther and harder on the water.”
onX Fish is a new app for lake-anglers developed by digital mapping and navigation powerhouse onX. The app aims to solve the biggest problem facing anglers, “Where should I go fishing?” onX Fish debuted in Minnesota in early 2024. Since then, the company has been adding more Midwestern states, while gathering feedback from anglers in each new state to improve the user experience before moving onto the next. The app is currently available in MN, WI, MI, OH, IN, IL, IA, MO, ND, SD, and now MT. Montana marks the app’s first expansion beyond the Midwest, and it will continue to expand across the country, updating its offering and toolset along the way.
With onX’s moving-water app TroutRoutes already established in Montana, Montana anglers now have two great choices to serve their fishing needs. onX Fish for still-water angling and TroutRoutes for moving waters. More information on TroutRoutes can be found at https://troutroutes.com/.
The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) identifies several barriers facing anglers, including crowded fishing spots, not catching fish, and lack of knowledge and information being chief among them. To solve these problems, onX Fish developed a powerful Lake Finder feature that helps anglers find new fishing opportunities by filtering thousands of lakes for different species, trophy or keeper potential, and abundance based on scientific data acquired from each state’s fish and wildlife agencies. In addition to fish-related parameters, the app allows users to filter lakes based on lake size, and access amenities. Other key features of the app include Area Insights, Regulations, Weather, Fishery Details, Offline Maps, Recent Satellite Imagery, and an Apple CarPlay integration.
onX Fish can be downloaded for iOS on the App Store, or for Android on Google Play. Annual membership pricing is just $34.99. For more information on onX Fish in Montana, visit https://www.onxmaps.com/fish/app/montana-fishing-maps.
