Trail Overview
When starting this trail from FR 2832 to FR 2161, the route begins in the National Forest. This section of the national forest is very hilly, with lots of elevated points as well as deep bowls. The trail follows a good amount of this terrain as it winds through this section of forest. The trail in this area is just wide enough for one SxS, but there are places where machines can pass or pull off into the ditch line to allow for passage. Several sections of this trail have steep rocky washes located along hillsides. In addition, the surrounding dense forest, as well as sharp corners, result in poor sight lines throughout this portion of the trail. Several low spots will collect water and turn into water spots. These are typically under 8 in. deep. As the trail continues to navigate, it eventually enters private forestry land. This part of the trail is much wider than the prior portion of the trail, but not wide enough for two SxS's. The trail base is, at this point, all dirt. It can be either soft or hard pack, depending on recent activity in the area. This portion of the trail is also open to vehicle traffic on the trail as well as on roads around the trail.
Difficulty
All modern ATVs and SxS are able to complete this trail. The washes and water spots are mild but provide a small amount of difficulty for older machines, individuals with less experience, or machines with bald tires. The trail is very narrow in most areas and will require machines to slow down and pull over to safely pass.
