Lyme Timberlands - Florence County F14

Lyme Timberlands Florence County F14 is a multi-use private timberland road open to a variety of vehicle types. This trail runs from its intersection with FS 2161 to its intersection with Grade Road. This trail also serves as the lower section of the Florence County F14 ATV and SxS trail. This dirt trail navigates through a large portion of the western edge of the Lyme Timber Land. If traveled from West to east, the trail begins as a relatively narrow two-track made mostly of sand, with sections of small rocks protruding through the trail surface. There are several small washouts in this section of trail, as well as some low spots that will collect water after recent rainfall. Roughly halfway up the trail, it opens up onto a wider dirt road. There are again small rocks that protrude through the trail surface. With this portion of the trail being all dirt, the surface can become slick from mud during and after heavy rain. Several low spots will collect water along the trail side. The scenery around the trail is mostly dense forest with overgrown trail edges; however, this can change depending on whether any sections of the forest around the trail were recently harvested. The trail has some mild rolling hills across its entire length but does not have anything overly steep. Sight lines throughout the trail are poor to okay. Cell service in this area is very limited; traveling with downloaded maps is recommended, especially for those riding on ATV and SXS, as this F14 route is the only trail open to ATV and SXS traffic in this section of land.
