Trail Overview
FS 2140 is a 12-mile hardpack dirt road open to highway-legal vehicles only. Non-highway-legal OHVs are not permitted. The road is generally well-groomed and offers a mellow ride with winding turns and no significant obstacles. Most of the route is wide and easy to navigate. About halfway through, the road narrows and vegetation begins reaching into the trail from both sides, creating a tighter section before opening back up. Several pullouts are located along the route and can be used for dispersed camping where permitted. Overall, FS 2140 is an easy and approachable Forest Service road, with its length and winding route providing a relaxed backcountry drive rather than a technical challenge. Riders and drivers should remain alert for oncoming vehicles around blind turns.
Difficulty
Easy — well-groomed hardpack, no significant obstacles, and only a short narrower section with encroaching vegetation.
