Johnson Creek Road - FS 8213

This is a narrow, one-lane, dirt-based forest road. There are a few places to pass, and the trail is a shelf road most of the way with over 2,100 feet in elevation change. There are ruts and wash under a foot, and bumpy rock garden sections with some loose rock. The switchbacks have ledges with high drop-offs, so pay attention, as there are serious consequences for a mistake or careless driving here. There are amazing views for miles along this trail of the nearby peaks and all the way to Lake Chelan. Cell phone service was weak at best, so downloading the offline map and having a satellite communication device could be helpful. There are no amenities on this trail, and a high-clearance 4x4 is recommended.
