Trail Overview
This is a forest road that climbs over 3,000 feet in elevation. The trail starts on gravel and transitions to dirt. As the road climbs, it also becomes narrow and one lane wide in many areas, with no place to pass. There are some ruts and washouts under a foot deep, which should not cause an issue. There are several switchbacks, and the drop-offs are very far down, but you will have expansive views of the surrounding peaks and of Lake Chelan as you near the top. The views are worth the climb, and this trail could be completed in most vehicle types, but a high-clearance 4x4 is recommended. There are no amenities along the trail, so travel with all needed supplies. You are approximately 15 minutes from the closest supplies on this trail in the City of Chelan, and cellphone service is weak, so the offline map and a satellite communication device could be handy.
