Trail Overview
This is a short dead-end ATV spur off of the Mitchell Creek ATV Trail. From the intersection with Mitchell Creek Trail, this trail starts climbing up a steep and loose trail with shallow ruts and loose rocks. It’s a shelf trail that is wide, but still exposed as it follows the curvature of the hillside. It has a couple of unmarked intersections with old trails, so it’s helpful to have a map here. Once the trail flattens out on the hilltop, it starts going through a dense forested tree tunnel, where branches are hanging down over the trail, often whacking you at head height. There is low overhead clearance here. It pops out of the tree tunnel and comes to a nice viewpoint overlooking a rock outcropping. At this point, 2.5 miles into the route, it becomes narrow and washed out on an exposed hillside along some bushes, to where ATVs may want to turn around here, and the last mile of trail is more appropriate for dirt bikes only and resembles a singletrack. It becomes narrow and winds through some forested hillsides with some downed branches, and eventually peters out from lack of use. It may be best to turn around at the 2.5 mile mark for ATVs, since this has to be ridden as an out-and-back anyway. The trail is designated for vehicles less than 50 inches wide by the Chelan Ranger District, but the trail was unmarked, with no designations in person, so you may see UTVs and wider vehicles out here by accident. It is one vehicle wide most of the time and is only ideal for ATVs and dirt bikes. The trail looks lightly trafficked, with overgrown grass in parts of the trail, but it was clear of any logs (as of July 2026).
