Trail Overview
Hoodsport - North Cushman Connector is an easy, single-vehicle-wide route branching from Hoodsport Mainline on Washington DNR-managed land. The trail begins as single-vehicle-width hardpack dirt surrounded by thick forest, with a few shallow puddles and one small log hop providing minor obstacles. Several low-hanging trees reduce overhead clearance in places, so taller vehicles should use caution. As the forest opens beneath the power lines, the surface transitions from hardpack dirt to gravel and connects with a larger network of forest roads and trails. Near the North Lake Cushman Road side is an area that appears to be used for camping. Access from North Lake Cushman Road is gated, so current gate conditions and posted restrictions should be observed. Overall, this is a mellow connector with minimal technical difficulty.
Difficulty
Mostly firm hardpack and gravel with shallow puddles, reduced overhead clearance, and one small log hop. None of the obstacles require advanced driving or riding skills.
