Trail Overview
Forest Overgrowth Trail is an easy route traveling through thick forest on Washington DNR-managed land. The trail begins on firm, hardpack dirt with sections of grass growing along the roadway and no significant technical obstacles. Dense trees and vegetation surround the route, creating a secluded forest ride. As you continue farther in, vegetation gradually becomes thicker and begins encroaching farther into the trail, eventually becoming the defining feature of the route. The mapped section ends at a small turnaround where heavy overgrowth limits further travel. At the time the trail was recorded, a Washington DNR official was actively clearing vegetation from the route, so conditions may improve or change as maintenance continues. Overall, this is a mellow forest trail where vegetation, rather than terrain, presents the primary challenge.
Difficulty
Mostly hardpack dirt and grass with progressively heavier vegetation. There are no significant rocks, ruts, ledges, water crossings, steep grades, or other technical obstacles.
