Trail Overview
Dugout Ditch Trail is a single-vehicle-width route that begins as an easy hardpack trail through the forest. Around halfway through, conditions become rougher as several large dugout ditches cross or interrupt the trail, followed by a downed tree. Beyond the tree, additional dirt ditches and increasing vegetation make the route progressively less maintained. Brush and overgrowth become especially thick as you approach the end of the mapped section. The trail takes approximately eight minutes to travel at a moderate pace and eventually reaches private property. Do not continue beyond the public-land boundary without permission. Most of the route remains straightforward, but the combination of ditches, a downed tree, and heavy vegetation makes the latter portion noticeably more challenging than the beginning.
Difficulty
The beginning is straightforward hardpack, but the large dugout ditches, downed tree, additional eroded sections, and increasingly heavy overgrowth require more careful line selection and vehicle control.
