Trail Overview

Overstreet Creek climbs from just over 1,300 feet in elevation to 3,250 ft, where it meets the Blue Ridge Parkway. This four-mile-long route is mostly gravel, but some of the steep sections include larger rocks. The namesake creek parallels the road for most of the length, and several waterfalls are visible. Near the top, sweeping views of the Sedalia valley make this trail a great option for a winter ride when the leaves have fallen. Before intersecting with the Blue Ridge Parkway, a couple of small campsites are available.

Difficulty

It's not a totally maintained gravel road, but any all-wheel drive with a little clearance should be fine.

Enjoyed this trail, only potentially challenging part is steepest section of trail is also the roughest in regards to rocks. Doable for most vehicles with alittle ground clearance.

Real easy trail with nice views. Went down in 2wd and street tires no problem

Absolutely beautiful, super easy ride though quite bumpy in some areas. This was my first ‘trail’ and it was super easy to complete. As long as it’s dry, a 2wd could take this well. Per the last report, the log blocking this was cut and removed.

Super easy, quick, and fun trail. Started at the bottom and worked my way up towards blue ridge parkway. This trail can easily be done in 2wd and less than 30 minutes. Great views of the creek and mountain range as you elevate. I would highly recommend this trail to a beginner it’s very enjoyable as easy going but still gives you that feel of the trail.

Was Very foggy and dark when I was there. Have been on this road many times. Condition was normal to better than normal. There had been some downed trees (already cut up) at the top part of the road. I use the word road as it is a road, just bumpy on the upper hill part. I have force our family stock Subaru Outback through here several times. Even see a guy in a Honda van here before with his family (bumpy ride) this is a great backroad to the parkway that is worth the drive if you just like being in the woods without scratching up your vehicle.

Trail is open. We came in off the parkway and the top half of the trail is rough currently.

Went out on a rare snow day. Blue Ridge Parkway is closed during this type of weather, so once I made it to the top, I had to make my way back down in the snowy conditions which was a fun challenge for a beginner. For a 4x4, this trail should be no issue during regular weather
