Middle Creek

Middle Creek is a scenic gravel route in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Running approximately 4.2 miles, this well-maintained Forest Service road climbs from 1,406 feet to 2,892 feet. Its smooth gravel surface is suitable for most high-clearance vehicles and standard SUVs. The route winds through dense Eastern hardwood forests, making it particularly popular during autumn. The road terminates at a dead-end junction connecting to four hiking and equestrian trailheads. Two primitive, first-come, first-served dispersed campsites are located along the corridor. Cellular service is typically available near the end of the route. Visitors should yield to hikers and horses along the shared-use road.
