Trail Overview
Tower Road is a scenic trail within Concan Adventure Trails that climbs to the top of Tower Hill, home to an old radio tower overlooking the ranch. The steady climb rewards drivers with some of the best panoramic views in the park, making it a popular destination for both sightseeing and camping. At the summit, you'll find one of the best campsites on the property with plenty of space and incredible views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country.
Difficulty
This trail features a dirt, gravel, and rocky surface with a steady uphill climb to the summit. Some sections contain loose rocks and uneven terrain that require careful tire placement, but there are no major ledges or extreme obstacles. Most high clearance 4x4 vehicles will have little trouble reaching the top under normal conditions. After rain, the loose rock and dirt can become slick, making the climb more challenging. A high clearance 4x4 is recommended, though heavily modified vehicles are not necessary. Tower Road is considered a moderate trail that combines an enjoyable climb with one of the best viewpoints and camping locations in the park.
