Trail Overview
Star Gazer is a challenging hill climb located within Concan Adventure Trails that follows the ranch fence line as it climbs steadily toward higher elevation. The trail is known for its rocky terrain and continuous uphill climb, making it one of the more demanding routes in this section of the park. As you gain elevation, you'll be rewarded with great views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country.
Difficulty
This trail consists of a steep climb over loose rock, gravel, and uneven limestone terrain. The climb is continuous with very few opportunities to rest, requiring good traction and careful throttle control to maintain momentum. While there are no major ledges or extreme off-camber sections, the rocky surface and sustained incline make the trail significantly more challenging than the park's easier scenic routes. A high-clearance 4x4 with aggressive off-road tires is strongly recommended. A rear locker can be helpful on the steeper rocky sections, especially if conditions are loose or wet.
