Trail Overview

Ridge Top Trail is a dead-end spur off of the Long Haul Hollow Trail, within the Sundquist Unit of the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area Off- Highway Vehicle Riding Area. Riders can check it out as a quick out-and-back detour. It starts out as a steep descent off of Long Haul Hollow, but then flattens out and continues atop a little ridge line deep in the forest, rolling up and over small hills with several more short climbs and descents. There are frequent deep ruts, and spots that are very slick and greasy with mud, made more difficult by off-camber and uneven slopes. The trail looks a bit more primitive and less ridden since it’s a dead-end, with small downed branches. Watch out for big mud puddles across the trail, and a couple of short rock ledges at the beginning. The trail remains pretty wide throughout the mile-long route.
