Trail Overview

Coalmont Trail 11 is an easy-going, scenic connector trail within the Coalmont OHV Park that is perfect for beginners, stock high-clearance 4x4 vehicles, and off-roaders looking for a relaxed ride. Spanning approximately one mile, this trail connects Trail 2 to Trail 13, offering a gentle route with minor elevation changes of around 100 feet. The trail is primarily one vehicle wide and features a dirt and gravel surface with a few small, rocky sections that are easily managed with basic off-road skills. Along the way, drivers will navigate through dense Tennessee woodland, crossing a pipeline corridor before terminating at Trail 13. A key highlight of this route is a short walk-to overlook hidden behind the trees, which offers views of the surrounding valleys of Grundy County. Because of its mild slopes and minimal obstacles, the trail is highly accessible to most OHVs, including side-by-sides, ATVs, and stock SUVs. Visitors should plan for a quick transit, but may want to pause at the overlook trail to enjoy the forested landscape. The trail is best ridden during dry conditions, as mud can accumulate in low-lying areas after rainfall, though it's a dependable choice year-round.

11 is a great trail and tends to be less crowded. Hard pack and not very rocky so it can get a bit muddy. Watch out for small 2-3” stumps which could cause a flat. Some narrow and tight corners between trees could result in some tire rub on longer/wider vehicles. Most water holes can be bypassed and they can get up to 24” deep in the ruts after a good rain. Lots of trees for self rescue but most likely won’t need to.
