Trail Overview
Coalmont Trail 15 is an inviting, scenic warm-up loop perfect for novice offroaders and families looking to ease into their adventure at the Coalmont OHV Park. Spanning just under one mile, this beginner-friendly trail begins directly at the primary parking and camping area, looping around to connect with the park's main overlook road. The route offers a gentle introduction to the local terrain, featuring a mix of hard-packed dirt and gravel with minor elevation changes. Offroaders will encounter a few shallow mud holes and rocky patches, with obstacles and loose stones generally measuring under 12 inches, making it easily navigable for stock 4x4s, UTVs, and ATVs.
As a single-vehicle-wide track, the trail winds through lush Tennessee woodland, intersecting with Trail 16 and Trail 17 to provide excellent route-planning flexibility. These intersections allow drivers to easily branch off onto more challenging routes or continue along the gentle loop. The trailhead's proximity to the main staging area, which features RV hookups, makes it an ideal first run to test tire pressure, check gear, and warm up equipment before tackling the park's more demanding trail network.
