Trail Overview

This graded, well-maintained trail climbs toward the top of Lookout Mountain and is generally easy, though it has a few tougher sections along the way. Watch for cleared logging debris, as several logs sit near the roadway, and a couple are still partially in the travel path. These can be navigated with some caution, but drivers should keep an eye out as they approach them. The trail climbs beautifully through alpine terrain, with views along the mountain overlooking surrounding shrubs and trees. It eventually reaches a turnaround area with a gate marking the end of vehicle access. From there, you can continue on foot toward the top of the mountain. The steady climb, alpine surroundings, and mountain views make this an enjoyable route. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
