Trail Overview
This beautiful forest trail climbs steadily into the mountains before eventually descending again. The road is well maintained but narrow, generally allowing room for only one vehicle at a time. Plenty of deer and cattle are throughout the area, so drive slowly and watch carefully for animals along the route. The trail surface includes several sizable potholes, fallen rocks along the edges, and sections where large trees or branches encroach into the roadway. One large tree trunk remains in place, with a bypass worn around it. Near the end of the trail, a locked gate blocks further vehicle access. Signs indicate that the area beyond is closed to all motorized vehicles year-round to protect wildlife habitat. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
Difficulty
Overall, this is a scenic and enjoyable forest drive, but drivers should use caution around rocks, fallen trees, and other obstacles that could damage vehicles, ATVs, or SxSs.
