Trail Overview
This is a beautiful, well-maintained trail that winds through a mix of forest and open plateaus covered in short grassland. The road surface is exceptionally smooth in places, almost feeling like pavement, making for an easy and enjoyable drive. A few rocky sections are present, but nothing particularly difficult, and several side trails branch off the main route and appear to be in good condition. The trail also passes through areas where livestock roam, so watch for cattle and use caution around the cattle guard along the route. As the trail continues, it alternates between wooded sections and open grasslands, offering beautiful views, especially around sunset. The route eventually leads toward Allen Creek Reservoir, where boat access is available near Allen Creek Dam. The road leading toward the reservoir appeared to be in good condition, providing a convenient way to reach the water and surrounding recreation areas. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
