Trail Overview
This is a long, well-maintained forest road open only to highway-legal vehicles; dirtbikes, quads, and SxS are not permitted. The road winds through the mountains with numerous curves, blind corners, and elevation changes. Several sections are narrow and have steep drop-offs, so use caution around oncoming traffic and avoid excessive speed. Approaching from the south, the road climbs toward a high ridge before leveling out and following the ridge with impressive mountain views. As it descends toward the northern entrance, the road remains in excellent condition but continues along exposed sections with steep drop-offs. The route offers many beautiful viewpoints and additional trailheads. Check camping restrictions before stopping, as available information indicates dispersed camping is not permitted along the road itself.
Difficulty
Overall, this is a scenic and well-maintained mountain route, but the narrow sections, blind curves, and exposed drop-offs require attentive driving.
