Trail Overview
Craven Road connects with New Hanover Road and allows users to extend their travels through the eastern portion of the Boiling Spring Lakes Preserve trail network. This route is wide and generally well maintained, providing relatively easy travel as it follows the rear section of the network along the edge of the preserve. At the time of mapping, the majority of Craven Road was free from significant obstacles and offered a straightforward dirt and gravel driving experience. Near the end of the trail, users will encounter a large mud hole that may become considerably more challenging following periods of wet weather. Fortunately, there is ample room available for users who choose to bypass the obstacle rather than attempt the crossing. As always in this coastal environment, users should evaluate mud and standing water carefully before entering.
