Trail Overview
Beaver Pond Road is a Forest Service-style road running through the western portion of the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge. This trail provides access to a large area of the refuge as well as multiple connecting trails. It is predominantly a gravel double-track trail that winds through wooded environments, though a few clearings with farmland are also present along the route. The trail is on the easier side, featuring only a few minor potholes; however, it is generally rather narrow, which can pose slight difficulties when encountering oncoming vehicles. Because of the easy terrain, the trail can be driven quickly; however, wildlife is frequently spotted along the route, creating sudden hazards.
Difficulty
The trail features minimal obstacles aside from a few small ruts and potholes. However, it can be narrow at times, and wildlife may be present along the route, creating sudden hazards.
