Trail Overview

Enjoy this South Reno access road into the foothills, then follow it all the way to the Glyphs via the Lockwood Trail. The route is rocky throughout, so plan on slow going. Keep an eye out—wild horses are commonly seen along this corridor (give them space). From the top, soak in the abundant, sweeping views from Sparks across to Reno.

Only went up 2 miles before turning around. Very rocky, not even fun on the dirtbike. Those 2 miles took me up about 1000ft elevation so it’s steep and rocky

Rocky with some washouts. Easy until about 39.44686, -119.77072 (after you crest the top going West to East). Gully washed out leaving at least a 6' ledge drop into dry river bed. Alone with our Jeep on 40's and didn't feel like pushing our luck.

Incredibly rocky. Lots of small sharp rocks. Easy enough trail just uncomfortable in my RZR

The trail was fun, but we ran out of daylight before we could go far enough to see any petroglyphs. It's pretty rocky and deteriorated and you have to go pretty slow so I would rate it at a 4/10. Great views of Reno and Sparks and saw a few wild horses, too.
