Trail Overview

Starting from the Keystone Canyon OHV Area (which offers ample parking and space for trailers), the Headliner Trail takes you up to the main Peavine access road, down a canyon trail, past the Kiowa Ponds, and loops back to the Keystone staging area. This trail offers a bit of everything for those looking to explore these hills. Be prepared for steep climbing sections where a 4x4 is required. If you don't have 4WD, there are alternative trails to explore that allow you to rejoin the Headliner Trail at a more comfortable point. Portions of this mountain trail are long and steep, with loose shale making traction challenging. Along the way, you'll experience winding descents, diverse terrain, and varied mountain vegetation.

Very rocky, but not technical for high clearance vehicles. You’ll still need to be careful with some areas above King’s Row trailhead, I busted a fuel filter cap when not paying attention to how I was descending. Usually quiet, mostly mountain bikers. Likely very muddy on the top of hills and north facing aspects, though I usually don’t go too far.
