Trail Overview
Vermigrade Spur Di connects the upper trails in the area with Elephant Lake and offers a diverse route for 4x4s, side-by-sides, ATVs, and motorcycles. Starting from the upper end, the trail begins with loose sand and gravel before transitioning into a more rocky road. This well-used section can be particularly fun for ATVs and side-by-sides.
Continuing downhill, the trail passes several dispersed camping areas and a switchback before climbing toward a wetland crossing. Use extra caution after heavy or prolonged rain, as water levels and trail conditions can change. After this, you will find a restricted trail for < 50-inch-type rides that continues to a Memorial and a gravel pit area.
Overall, Vermigrade Spur Di is a well-used and diverse trail that offers something for just about every type of off-road vehicle. With mud, rocks, sand, a gravel pit, wetland crossings, climbs, a switchback, and camping opportunities, it's easy to see why the locals use it for 4x4s, side-by-sides, ATVs, and motorcycles.
