Turkey Foot Road - FS 4

Turkey Foot Road - FS 4, also known as Elster Road, is a scenic gravel road that winds through the Daniel Boone National Forest, providing access to recreation areas, forest roads, and dispersed camping opportunities. The route includes a single-lane bridge crossing and passes through beautiful hardwood forests, making it a pleasant drive in any season. A highlight of the route is Turkey Foot Campground, a first-come, first-served campground that serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the surrounding forest. Generally well-maintained and suitable for most vehicles, Turkey Foot Road offers an easy way to experience the quieter side of the Daniel Boone National Forest.
