Trail Overview
This trail is within the boundaries of the Daniel Boone National Forest and travels out of the area of Turkey Foot Campground and Wind Cave. The trail is somewhat maintained with the branches and trees cut back, and the road surface is dirt and rock. This ridge has good views and has recently undergone some logging and machinery work on the Wind Cave side for better access.
Difficulty
It's a dirt road with few obstacles. One area close to Wind Cave does have an erosion spot to watch for from a downed tree going up/down a grade portion of the trail. The trail is overall unmaintained and narrow in places, but two vehicles can find places to pass. Pending weather conditions, some spots may be slick, and any obstacle is less than 12 inches and easy to traverse. The Wind Cave side has recently undergone some machinery maintenance and logging which has opened the trail up for better access.
